Christmas 2020

Well, it’s been a year, for sure. But we’re still thankful for our blessings. We didn’t do most of our normal Christmas celebratory activities this year for obvious reasons. But we did put together this short video to commemorate the holiday.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!

Independence Day 2019

Celebrating Independence Day 2019 at Lake Tapawingo

On July 4, Jim and I spent the day with family – Mark and Julie Geraghty – at their home on Lake Tapawingo. We had a great time and a really fun boat ride on the lake. The weather was a little rainy but that also kept the temperature really pleasant – an unusual occurrence on the Fourth of July!

Thanks Mark and Julie for a wonderful Holiday!

Christmas 2018

KC Plaza – Christmas 2018

We had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed celebrating the season. We decided to put up a cat-proof tree this year… a real tree with nothing “breaky” on it. The smell of the real tree permeated the house – something we’ve not enjoyed for years – so at least there was an olfactory silver lining to our visually unimpressive decoration.

New Year’s Eve in Kansas City – Afternoon Snow!

Kansas City Plaza from the Intercontinental Hotel – Christmas 2018

We had some time to kill on New Year’s Eve in Kansas City. We drove from the Plaza to downtown and back. Along the way, around the Brookside neighborhood, we encountered a brief but magical snow shower. The temperature was about 40 degrees and the snowflakes were wet and huge!

Happy 2019 and hope you enjoy!

Thanksgiving – 2018

Making of the Thanksgiving Dressing (60th+ Annual) – 2018

We have many things to be thankful for in 2018.  Jim and Sissie are both winning their battles with cancer.  Mom is doing well.  The rest of us are all in reasonably decent health… all things considered.  The most important thing I can think of to be thankful for is that we all love one another and wish only the best for each other.  That’s what family is all about!

Jim Thanksgiving 2018

This was the first time in 13 years that Jim has been with his family on Thanksgiving Day.  We’ve gone to Saint Louis or Kansas City many times on various Thanksgiving weekends… but not on the day itself until now.  I feel really bad about that.  Time races along faster and faster.  The years stack up before you realize it – or before I did at least.  I will see to it that it doesn’t happen again!

Family Thanksgiving 2018

Below is a video of all our fun and togetherness with those we dearly love.  What a lucky guy I am to have such a wonderful family!
